Psychological and psychiatric care for migrant women in Europe


PSYFEM was carried out between December 2002 and September 2003 in three different EU countries. The project was coordinated by Natalia Bleiker and Heike Martnesim on behalf of Amnesty for Women e. V.

The project was supported by the European Commission for employment, social affairs and inclusion. It was primarily coordinated by Amnesty for Women e. V. in Hamburg, Germany.

PSYFEM analyzes the general political and legal framework, as well as the social, psychological and psychiatric provision of migrant women in Germany, Belgium and Austria. The results served to develop new strategies and methods in the Division for the promotion of the psychological health of migrants.
